Welcome to the Houston City Cup 2025

The Houston City Cup will be played over multiple weekends through April and May. Each team is competing to advance to the Houston City Cup Finals May 3-4 or May 10-11 and be crowned Champions!

Games

Each team will be guaranteed 4 games. Teams will either play 3 games + final/consolation game OR 4 games plus a potential final. 

Bracket & Format

Brackets of 4: Teams play round robin. Final game is 1st vs 2nd and 3rd vs 4th

Brackets of 5: Teams play round robin. 1st and 2nd play in a final

Brackets of 6: Teams play cross bracket. Final game is 1st vs 2nd, 3rd vs 4th, 5th vs 6th

Brackets of 8: Teams play cross bracket. 1st and 2nd play in a final.

Date of Play

U11-14 Teams will play on the following weekends

  1. March 29-30
  2. April 4-5
  3. April 12-13
  4. April 26-27
  5. May 3-4 (Finals)

U15-19 Teams will play on the following weekends

  1. April 4-5
  2. April 12-13
  3. April 26-27
  4. May 3-4
  5. May 10-11 (Finals)

Scoring Information

Winning team, or home team in the event of a tie, will update the score by scanning the QR Code on the game card. The pin for the event will be on the game card also.

Tournament Information

Each team will be awarded points per game as follows:

  • 3 points for a win
  • 1 point for a tie*
  • Maximum of +3 or -3 goals counted toward goal difference per game.

*In the event of a tie, a PK shootout will be held to determine a winning team for an additional point (giving them two points overall for the game)

UNIFORM:

Home team wears WHITE uniform. Away team wears BLACK uniform. Both teams bring both jerseys to each game in case of a conflict.

TIE BREAKERS:

Tie breakers will be decided in the following order:

  • Head-to-head
  • Goal Differential
  • Goals Scored
  • Goals Conceded

GAME DURATION:

  • U11 & U12: 2 x 30 minutes (60-minutes total)
  • U13 & U14: 2 x 35 minutes (70 minutes total)
  • U15 & U16: 2 x 40 minutes (80 minutes total)
  • U17 & U19: 2 x 45 minutes (90 minutes total)

REGISTRATION FEES:

The registration fees for The Houston City Cup 2024 are as follows:

  • U11 & U12 Brackets: $425
  • U13 & U14 Brackets: $550
  • U15 – U19 Brackets: $575

The above fees include all round-robin, final, and consolation games.

PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS:

The two options to pay the registration fees are as follows:

  • Check – checks can be made payable to HTX Soccer and mailed to the clubs North Office (2201, Timberloch Place, Suite 275, The Woodlands, TX 77380) or delivered by your head coach/director.
  • Credit Card – credit card payments by updating the payment method in GotSport.

The registration fees are due by end of day on Monday, March 24.

When making requests, please understand.

  • Requests should revolve around coach, time & location conflicts
  • Requests made prior to scheduling were done honored to the best of our ability based on multiple factors

Rescheduling Request Document: CLICK HERE

  1. Review your schedule, either through the Schedule Link, or Rescheduling Document. If you are using the Google sheet, you can use command + F to open a search bar to type your team’s name
  2. Type in reason for your request into column M, suggest a new field location and time into column N & O
  3. Add your initials (from the contact list) into the applicable column of P or Q
  4. Contact the opposition Coach/ Director to propose the reschedule
  5. Once agreed, email scheduler@htxsoccer.com & copy cells A to H into the email & we will review the reschedule.
  6. If the reschedule is approved, the row will be highlighted green, moved accordingly in GotSport & on the sheet. The details that have changed in the reschedule will be colored yellow text
  7. If the reschedule is denied, the text will be colored red & a note made in column R
  8. All of the above needs to be complete by 9 AM, the Monday prior to the game.

Understand that requesting a game change is not a guarantee, the game might need to stay where it is due to field space, referee availability or another factor. Please be realistic. We will also not chase people up for you, or people who do not follow the process above.
