Who can play?

Any boy or girl born 2020-2005 is welcome.

The Recreational Program is a parent volunteer coached program and is an excellent introduction to soccer for kids. Players will have weekly practices & games throughout an 8 week season. No previous experience is required to register. Coach & friend requests are welcome.

Fall 2024 Season Dates: September 14 (Opening Day of Games) – November 2, 2024 (Last Day of Games)

Open Registration Dates: May 1 – August 30, 2024 (Registration will move to a waitlist starting August 31)

The cost of uniforms is separate from your player’s registration fees. The Recreational uniform kit is provided through Soccer.com and is approx. $90 + taxes & shipping. Uniforms are valid from Fall 2023-Spring 2025.

Training Schedule:

  • U4: Saturdays 9:00 to 10:00AM (30 min practice followed by a 30 min game)
  • U5/U6: 1 mid week practice – will be loaded in PlayMetrics once confirmed with coaches
  • U7/8: Monday and Wednesday from 5:30 to 6:30PM
  • U9/10: Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 to 6:45 PM
  • U11 & older: 2 mid week practice – will be loaded in PlayMetrics once confirmed with coaches

No midweek team commitment

Community Outreach – Montgomery Youth Clinic Fall 2017

The club’s Community Outreach Program sponsored by Houston Methodist Hospital provided a soccer clinic for the Home Educators of Montgomery Soccer (90 players) at the Fellowship of Montgomery.

“It was great to see a large turnout and an overwhelming positive response with the soccer clinic that was hosted at the Fellowship of Montgomery Friday morning.  Nine (9) professional coaches provided the players multiple soccer activities in a fun environment in perfect playing conditions.  Everybody enjoyed the event and we look forward to doing further instructional clinics in Montgomery promoting the game of soccer to the local community.”  Chris Kuciemba, Director of Coaching – Montgomery Recreational / Youth Academy.

These sessions focus on individual skill and development of the fundamental techniques in an active and fun environment. Skills training sessions are separate from your players weekly team practice.

All sessions take place on Stampede Sportsplex. Players must bring an inflated soccer ball and plenty of water

We have partnered with Kingwood Alliance Soccer Club to provide a developmental pathway for their players into our Youth Academy and Competitive programs. We look forward to supporting their current Recreational program and welcome their players into the HTX Soccer family.

Summer & Winter: Check out our CAMPS!

The Kingwood Alliance Recreational program fosters this promotion through a league that focuses on individual play, along with team building. The program has several teams at all age groups and genders, which allow players to play with their peers, in the local community. They provide 8 games on Saturdays, in Kingwood and the players receive a full uniform. The end of each season is celebrated with individual medals and club festivities.

U4-U7 – The regular price of registration is $145. For those who are looking for extra training, there is Skills Training provided by Kingwood Alliance professional coaches for an additional fee of $100. This is available for those who register in the Recreational league and is an hour session for 8 weeks.

U8-U10 – The regular price of registration is $195. These age groups receive 8 one-hour training sessions with the HTX Soccer training staff.

U11+ – Kingwood Alliance also have opportunities for players who want to play recreationally in Division III soccer. This can be a springboard to competitive soccer for some who aren’t ready at U11 but are by U12 or U13.

Referees

HTX Soccer are always in need of referees! We run multiple leagues & events across the city and are looking for beginner, intermediate & advance referees!

Who schedules the referees?  Eric Manis schedules the referees for the North (Montgomery, Tomball & Woodlands) Recreational & Youth Academy programs. Randy Evans schedules the referees for the South programs.

When can I referee? As mentioned above, we schedule referees for our in-house Recreation & Youth Academy programs. Additionally, we have events such as 3v3 Turf Cup & Winterblast and 5v5 Memorial Day Classic where we schedule referees. Eric Manis assignors the referees for these events.

All new referees need to be qualified through South Texas Soccer Referees (STSR).

South Texas Soccer Referees (STSR) is the official State Referee Committee for the United States Soccer Referee Program. The committee is responsible for the administration of the Referee Program including Registration, Development and Assignment and serves those associations affiliated with the United States Soccer Federation in South Texas.
